Very interesting interview. I think it is worth looking into the roots of this form of secularism found in the army. A much better model than the French one.
Although I agree with his analysis of Congress and their own jurisdiction over communal rioting, I don’t think the portrayal of Modi and BJP as some kind of lesser evil really makes no sense – though I appreciate it is a lot of rhetoric. Their ideology is very dangerous, and the rhetoric will have an impact on inflaming those tensions, to the detriment of minority rights.
